Possible to generate kml or gpx files from trip data?

sduck 6 years ago updated by Fly_PetitPrince 2 years ago 3

It looks like you are collecting the right kind of trip data to generate these. It would be nice to be able to drop drive routes into google earth or other mapping software. Thanks!

Add Set Valet Mode to Schedules

graeme elliott 7 years ago updated by James 3 years ago 4

It would be useful to allow setting valet mode on/off from a schedule. This would allow for automatic setting of valet mode overnight so that in the event of theft, vehicle performance is limited and mobile access can't be disabled.

Refactor Elevation Logging

rfmurphy81 8 years ago updated by James 5 years ago 20

DescriptionRather than displaying the elevation difference between the starting and ending location of a drive, it would be beneficial to determine the cumulative gain and loss throughout the drive. This would require tracking the elevation at each data point and having a summary field to determine Elevation Gain and a separate summary field to determine Elevation Loss.

This could be summarized in each drive record, plus the daily summary and possibly other places. This would be helpful to display in the leader boards, too.
Additional InformationIf you plan to use the Google Maps Elevation API, it appears that you're limited to 2,500 calls per day without having to pay. It may be smart to create a separate table for Long/Lat data and the associated elevation for that location, then create a separate service to ping the Google API to fill in any missing data within the limits. Perhaps this new TeslaFi elevation service can work every day to fill in all GPS locations captured thus far until you feel comfortable with the number of new GPS locations being less than the 2,500 limit per day, then you can start displaying the data on the site. Then the service, which is running every day, can fill in all incoming GPS locations that don't already have an elevation associated to it until it reaches the 2,500 limit for the day, then it starts over the next day.

Switch from Monthly to Annual

trailrunner13 5 months ago updated by SSM S2K 2 months ago 5

I activated a subscription after my trial ended, but was not offered the Annual option, only Monthly. How do I make that switch in arrears?

Answer
James 3 months ago

Hello,

We have temporarily removed the annual subscription option. This decision comes in light of the upcoming changes to Tesla’s official API pricing, which has not yet been announced.

Once the new API costs are made available, we may need to adjust our pricing accordingly. We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

Thank you for your understanding.

Tesla API Access

James 4 years ago updated by EDIflyer 4 years ago 2

Tesla appears to have blocked Amazon, Google, and Microsoft’s IP’s from accessing their servers. We don't believe it was done intentionally to stop third-party services from accessing the API, however, it's still unknown why this occurred and why it's continuing to occur.

In the meantime, a temporary fix was implemented until things return to normal. This was put in place last night to resume logging and the final touches were made this morning to get things such as Alexa working. Changes were also done to quickly handle any issues like this, should they occur in the future.

We will continue to monitor and let you know when we find out more information or if things return to normal.

Thank you,

TeslaFi

Software update FSD tracking

gibsonomega 5 years ago updated by Jack Waters 3 years ago 5

It would be helpful to add to the settings to track which cars have purchased FSD. That would be interesting to see when looking at updates in addition to the AP hardware.

Text Message sent when doors or windows are open or unlocked after "X" number of minutes.

mdX- 6 years ago updated by James 5 years ago 5

Accidental Fob signal from pocket, or someone leaving a door open would cause much damage if rain or snow starts. User could choose "X" minutes.

User could choose how often repeat messages are sent.

BTW: I'd pay $10-$20 per year for this function if needed as the hotel desk has called me after my fob opened my Falcon Wing from my jean's pocket while on the hotel's 3rd floor! So far not during a rain storm!!

Advanced features for Ver 2.0:

Ignore open doors if in a designated location like my garage.

Snooze activated by text message back to Teslafi.

Can we have a TeslaFi iOS App to start polling when I start driving?

epheterson 6 years ago updated by QS01 5 years ago 3

I seem to be unable to get my Tesla to sleep without TeslaFi sleep settings, but I also end up missing data because of them. It'd be great if TeslaFi had it's own app, for its own sake, but also this app could watch for a Bluetooth connection to my car, and/or monitor motion data to know when I'm driving, and start polling immediately. Tezlab does this pretty well with their app, the functionality would be similar here.
