Feature request: Automatic cabin overheat protection on/off
I live in very hot and sunny Scottsdale, Arizona, where my car spends most of the time in the shade in my carport or in a parking garage. Even though my car is routinely in 100+ temps in the summer, it's in the shade most of that time, so I see no need for cabin overheat protection most of the time. But occasionally, I have to park in the sun for awhile for grocery shopping or whatever. When I do, I try to remember to turn cabin overheat protection on, but I often forget to do so. And then, even when I do remember to turn it on, I sometimes forget to turn it off, which results in me wasting energy with my car parked in the shade at 100+ temps.
Here is what I would like: A schedule that checks to see if the car is parked in a different location than the last drive, and if so, to check that location for the following rule: If it's nighttime OR the car is at a tagged location (perhaps home, perhaps work, perhaps other tagged locations as well), turn overheat protection OFF. If it's daytime AND it's parked at any other location, turn overheat protection ON.
Is that feasible without polling constantly? Maybe you do it whenever you get a new data dump from the car? I know that's not technically a "schedule" -- it's more like an event manager.
fleetwide analytics on expected battery degradation over total miles driven
Consider using the teslafi fleet to provide analytics on battery degradation. For example chunk the fleet of model 3 long-range into 5000 mile increments of total miles driven, and for every one of those buckets analyze the fleet for the average + 10% percentile + 90% percentile of battery range. Use this to inform on where an individual vehicle battery degradation (i.e. current max mileage) is compared to the fleet, i.e. above average, below average, etc. This gives better insight rather than the general guidelines given by tesla.
Because the battery is the main consumable in the vehicle and also the most expensive, it is something that I think everyone will appreciate and may be used to inform charging habits. Could also be used as a value add proposition for the teslafi service if it can help make better decisions to extend the life of a rather expensive component of the vehicle, and retain range.
Can you control multiple vehicles with the Alexa skill?
Is it possible to control two separate vehicles with the Alexa skill? I've set up two separate TeslaFi accounts (one for each vehicle), I've linked them in the TeslaFi settings, but when I attempt to ask a command of Alexa, it seems to only control vehicle #1 and I can not control vehicle #2. Any tips or tricks?
Support for tesla solar
Tesla is shutting off the old solar city app/web site in august and is forcing the tesla app to collect data on tesla/solar city solar panels. It basically sucks because it doesn't allow any data export nor seeing more than 1 year of history.
As you have already reverse engineered tesla APIs for the cars, it might be trivial to do the same for the solar panels. Goal would be to scrape data similar to what solarcity.com does today, which is production snapshot every 15 minutes for export, and any other features others request.
Automatic split when offline
I have seen this issue from one year ago, and I think it would be nice to automatically split drives that are offline for a long period of time (+30 mins? configurable? only for given tagged locations?) in one given place. This is useful since I park underground at home for lunch (around 1h) and for sleeping.
Supercharges have weird Voltage and Amperage
All my Supercharges have a min/max/avg Voltage of 2 and an Amperage of more than 30000 on average. I assume this can't be correct.
This also makes the charts somewhat useless, as the battery-level, km/h and kW are all squashed into a line at the bottom.
It is a european (german) Model 3.
Auto-enable Sentry mode based on geofence settings
I'd love to be able to auto-enable Sentry mode every time I park at home. Or, maybe at my office.. or maybe all the time!
But, for certain, if I had Sentry mode auto-enabled, then whoever hit my car overnight a few days ago, while it was parked, would be on video.
Search Drives for Multiple Tags
Occasionally, I want to perform a Drive Search that spans multiple tags (e.g. Commute to Work and Commute Home), but at the moment, Drive Search only lets you select a single tag with a dropdown list. Would it be possible to turn this dropdown list into a multi-select, so that we can search drives for multiple tags at the same time?
Schedules & Reminders Problems: Not Chronological, Hi Temp, Plug In Reminder, Don't defrost in the summer!
Schedules & Reminders appear to be in a random order. Schedules & Reminders should Be Sorted Chronologically so that you can see in order:
1:00 AM Set Charge 70%
1:02 AM Start Charging
6:00 AM Set Charge 80%
6:02 AM Start Charging
7:15 AM HVAC temp HI (85 degrees, Model 3 can't go over 85 degrees, not 100 degrees as shown)
--> If inside temperature is below __. Don't do this in summer!
7:17 AM HVAC ON --> If inside temperature is below __.
7:22 AM HVAC OFF --> If HVAC is ON.
7:23 AM HVAC temp 70 (ready for temp I will use as needed on ride to work)
9:00 PM Plug in Reminder Charger is currently blank. Only do if Charger = Disconnected.
