Since the server migration I have not been receiving text notifications to Verizon.  Has anyone else been experiencing issues with text notifications?

crommerts 7 years ago updated by James 7 years ago 1

When I started my trial I would get notifications by E-mail but all of a sudden they are no longer coming (I checked spam inbox for a couple of days but nothing appeared). Can the E-mail notifications be fixed? Thanks.

Increase security if new token is requested

sdt15749 7 years ago updated by James 7 years ago 1

I have requested today a new token via teslafi.com.

As soon as i typed in the first character of my tesla password my browser has offered me autocomplete for this "password".

To increase security i recommend to disable autocomplete function for mail adress and password field.

Different kWh readings: public charger vs. [charge_energy_added]

rponte 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 5

When I charge at a public charger, the kWh consumed reported by (i) the charging station is always lower than (ii) the "kWh Used" mentioned in Teslafi. The difference is about 10%.

I was expecting the 2 to be (exactly) the same.

Do you have any obvious explanation for this difference?

It could be that the public charger isn't measuring correctly the energy provided to the car. Or are the Tesla Model S readings known to incorrectly measure the kWh used?

You may need to adjust your kWh factor in the settings page on TeslaFi.  After completing a trip 20+ miles or more look at the the trip meter in the car and compare it to the trip on TeslaFi.  Adjust the kWh factor accordingly.

kWh is not provided by the Tesla API so it has to be calculated.  Still with adjusting the factor it can get very close.  Longer drives will have more accuracy.

MYSQL errors when editing a tagged location

deanupton 7 years ago updated by James 7 years ago 1

Clicked on tagged location which brought up the edit window which gave MYSQL errors. I was still able to edit the tag, however when I saved it I received:

Warning: mysqli_query() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli, null given in /home/tesla/public_html/check.php on line 6

Warning: mysqli_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, null given in /home/tesla/public_html/check.php on line 8

TeslaFi is not using HTTPS

bjornlilja 7 years ago updated by James 7 years ago 8

TeslaFi is a great service but I was a bit stunned when I notice that the the website is unencrypted.

One can debate the sensitivity of the data provided by TeslaFi as long as the access to control the car is safe, but there is no questing that you are dealing with some level of sensitive data. And if nothing else, if the security level of the website does not feel safe, it raises questions of the general security of the service.

What are your plans for providing the service over HTTPS?

Why is it only partially logging my drives?

Suttonnick 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 2

Hi. I’m not sure if my settings are set wrongly (I did go in and make some changes because the vampire drain seemed to be really high ie 3.3Kwh in 24hrs) but it’s now started only partially logging some drives.

I’d welcome some advice on how I can get it logging properly again without draining the battery too much when idle.

Many thanks

Green bar at the top shows wrong "Engergy Added"

StefanSarzio 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 3

I would expect it to show the same kWh "Energy Added" as the last/current charging entry in the day view shows. Instead it shows a sum of all of the charges (in this spot) on this day.

Example: charge #254 is completed and shows 52,83 kWh added. Current active charge #255 shows 3,38 kWh. Green bar at the top shows 56,21 kWh "Energy Added".

Avg speed calculation problem found? (EU metrics)

Nietschy 7 years ago updated by James 7 years ago 3

I ha a trip where the avg speed is just wrong by my math.

(EU metrics)

I have a trip of 205.89km in 1h49 mins. So it's 99 Minutes for 205km. How can I go from here to the displayed 105KPH?

I would say its 124.8KPH.

(205.8 km / 99 min = 2.08 km / min

* 60 = min/hour = 124.78 km/h)
