Battery Report - Apply Filters to Own Data

PPlusa 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 1

The Battery Degradation Report has a good idea of including outside temperature when determining which fleet values to compare to; but this encounters a quirk with cold climates and heated garages. Namely, the conditions when driving (and thus HVAC usage and other factors) can be wildly different from the conditions when charging; which causes the vehicle to be mapped against the incorrect fleet data set. Drive conditions have also been shown to affect estimated and rated ranges - with the chart effectively becoming a graph of temperature changes over the life of the vehicle.

For example, yesterday my average temperature while driving was 14F, and so the vehicle is reporting 221 rated miles at 90%. My garage, however, is heated, and as a result my charge when I got home is being recorded and compared to other charges at 41F. This results in a "range difference" versus the fleet of nearly 40 miles.  During summer months, the difference is less than 10 miles.

Similarly, looking at just my vehicle's values, all 3 options (High vs Low, High vs Current, and Starting vs Current) show a similar skew.  I.e. my "low" and "current" ranges right now are being based on today's frigid range, and comparing to my much more mild 60F "high" range.

Ideally, fleet data would be filtered by average drive temperature since the last charge, not ambient charge temperature.  That might be difficult or time consuming with historical data though.

So, my proposal would be to add a "Filtered High Range vs Current Range" option under the trendline options.  This would effectively work the same as "High Range vs Current Range", but with the "High Range" having the "completed charges over %" and "Only within xx degrees" filters applied to the vehicle's historical charges. This isn't quite ideal as it would still allow below-garage-temperature drives to blend together, but would at least cancel out the largest skew caused by summer vs winter weather.

SuperCharger Charging cost issue

CoolEV19 3 years ago updated by James 3 years ago 0

Super Charger Tier1 cost is <60kW .

But that is the charger side power.

The charging cable power loss exists.

Please be able to change the Tier1 and Tier2 power boundaries.

Data Collected During Drives

jdhjjdhj 3 years ago 0

Two questions actually.

1) What does the Data Percentage mean under the Drives mileage block?  I know it states its the percentage of data collected over the period of the drive, but what does that mean exactly?  I assumed the car collects all this data, all the time, and all that data is available when TeslaFi polls to collect it, so why's the percentage change.  Is the car not collecting it, or is TeslaFi unable to get it from the car?

2) Likewise, when TeslaFI adds the note, "A drive may have occurred during this idle session. The range loss and kWh loss is not included in the daily summary," is this a car issue not tracking the data, or TesliFi not being able to access that data.

Thanks...

Trying to Understand Energy Costs

jdhjjdhj 3 years ago 0

New Tesla Model 3 LR owner.  Love all the data available on TeslaFi, but trying to understand my true energy costs.  The drive listings give you costs per trip, but when added up, and including the losses from the sleep sessions, parking, conditioning, and phantom drains, it still doesn't add up to what's listed as "charger costs".  I know we can't calculate regenerative braking adds, but some of these figures aren't even close. I know, you can't track efficiency variables (climate, terrain, heavy peddle driving, etc.)., but what figure should I subtract out from my monthly home electric bill every month for Tesla usage?  Just the costs associated with whats leaving the Charger?

Under "idles" the battery heater is marked as 0 even if it's physically on (1). The "preconditioning" icon is showing correctly, but not the raw value

Small Bar Charts on Year View to Have the same Scale

seigel 3 years ago updated by James 3 years ago 3

On https://www.teslafi.com/calendarYear.php, I was wondering if it would be possible to have the bar charts for the entire year view have comparable heights month to month.  Right now I can not compare one month to another visually because the bars are scaled to fit nicely for the one month view.

Attached, December's totals are actually shorter drives than Novembers for example.Screen Shot 2021-12-16 at 10.28.53 PM.png

Supercharging Tiers and fee structure

nomis 3 years ago updated by James 3 years ago 2

Tesla recently updated their supercharging tier structure from 2 to 4 power usage levels. The 4 tier structure has new pricing, would like to add this into the account settings to reflect as such and also capture what charging power usage were gleaned from a per session perspective to give a more accurate cost estimate over vehicle lifetime.

Thanks!

FSD Beta Testers

RubyRube 3 years ago updated by James 3 years ago 1

Can you please make a new category for FSD beta testers? Without it, it throws off my software outlooks.. for example, the site thinks the next software I’m getting is 2021.40.6, however, because I’m a beta tester my next version will probably be 2021.36.8.10… for FSD Beta 10.6.1… follow my thoughts/concern?
