Model 3 Values - Interested in Opinions.

Commissioner 2 years ago updated by James 2 years ago 0

I bought a 2018 Model 3 in 2019 and switched out the computer to have the option to upgrade to FSD. The car belonged to a Tesla programmer and had EAP and Beta programs available at that time. Put in the new computer and nothing worked right for three months. Tesla tried its best to fix the issues and they replaced every camera with new cameras and they finally figure out it was the firmware so they unloaded and reloaded new firmware and everything worked great.

EAP as wonderful. I was told to wait to put on FSD until it was refined. I waited and have the latest version (as of the date of this post) of the new FSD program and the car is perfect.

CarMax had a 2023 Model Y for sale with 1767 miles on it. The car has basic autopilot with FSD capability and its a wonderful looking car however when I went to trade mine in towards this car I was offer $12k less than what I owe ion my car. My car has 45K on the odometer, EAP (paid for in full) with the upgraded computer and I pay $99 per month for the FSD. They offered me $27K for my car with EAP/FSD and all the upgrades you can think of. Insulted but understand the animal I was dealing with.

In the end if I took the Model Y it would cost me $72K to roll in my current auto loan into the new loan and I'm losing 12K i n my 2018 Model 3. Payment would go from $582.00 per month (at 3.9%) to $1484.00 per month at 12.45% as we're in a different world with rates, terms and no doubt Tesla car values.

Carmax went from having no Tesla's in stock to having 14 to choose from. They have no clue what they're selling, have no idea if a car has EAP, FSD, what type of computer or even how to go in the back end to see the service records of any of their cars. All they seem to know is how to gouge Tesla owners coming and going.

No doubt I turned down their offer yesterday and I'm keeping my car as it has everything I need and looks and drives like a brand new car. I figure I can replace the battery when it needs it and go the distance like some others they do with their 150,000 stories.

The secondary market is all over the place as I see my car for 50K, 45K and those have no upgraded computer or access to have anything but EAP. What say all of you?

Show tag statistics in Monthly Calendar view

boosterit 2 years ago 0

Hi all,

In the Monthly Calendar view, there is a summary of # of drives, total kilometers/miles, # of chargers, etc.

I would like so see statistics on my tags. I am using tags like "Private" and "Work" and I would like to see how many kilometers are driven in each tag in the specified month.

Currently I can only use "Tagged Drive search" to download the drives and calculate it myself.

Would be a nice feature to implement! Thanks

Additional information requested in charging graph

Akaikougyoku 2 years ago updated by James 2 years ago 1

In the charging graph, would it be possible to generate a "constant" equal to "battery kW" plus "charge kW"?

This would be very helpful as it is more comparable when comparing charges (and also indicates the rate of charge alot better than what is currently available).

Allow to exclude locations from charge searches.

Add the option when searching for charge sessions, have the option to not include a location, so for instance have it so you can look for all the charging sessions that were not at home.

Road trip - show battery usage on each leg

allanpro 2 years ago 0

Hi,

In the Road trip screen it is not possible to see the start and end state of the battery for each leg. It just shows how much battery was used on the specific drive.

Would it be possible to add "96% - 79%" under icon where it states how many percentage was used. Just like the daily view?

Thanks for a really cool service. Keep up the good work.

Best regards

Allan

Idea for charges: Effective $ per KWh

Jaxmyers 2 years ago updated by James 2 years ago 0

Could you add $/KWh to the charge summary list view?

Sometimes charges are more complicated than I'd like with two different rates during the charge period, or an idle fee, or a combination of a time based and energy based fee. I usually just edit my charges and enter the final cost in $ after charging. What I'd like to see would be an effective $ per KWh next to each charge, that way it would be easier to see for example how the quirky charger in a small town with an odd tiered pricing scheme compares to the cost of charging at home.

Because of my job, I have to have records of my trips in my Tesla. Is that possible through this app?

Kimakendall 2 years ago updated 2 years ago 1

Other people use the VYNCS to track their trips.  I’m looking for an alternative as the Tesla doesn’t appear to have an outlet for that to plug in to.  Help!

Does it remember charging status when not connected?

daryllafferty 2 years ago updated 2 years ago 1

(I originally posted this in "General".  My mistake.  Should go here under questions.)

I have set up a charging schedule, where charging stops at 3pm and starts at 6pm (peak time for my utility).

If the car is not plugged in at 3pm and then I plug it in at 3:30pm, will it still remember to not charge until 6pm? Or will that "Stop Charging" command only apply if it is actually currently charging?

Similarly, if it is connected at 3pm (and stops charging) and I unplug at 3:30, then plug back in at 4:30, will it retain the "Stop Charging" status?
