It looks like Tesla just flipped the switch to move to the new official API.  You should see a new notice under the TeslaFi logo with instructions to switch to the new API.

We have also just sent an email to all users with the same instructions.

If you don't see the notice and things are not working you can also disable 'Legacy API' in settings->account->advanced and then navigate to settings->Tesla account and click on authenticate with Tesla to connect.

If you are experiencing any issue please open a support ticket in help->open a support ticket.

It seems that with the new TeslaFi API, it keeps logging out continuously, and I have to go through "Reauthenticate With Tesla" again. How can this be prevented? For example, yesterday it lost the connection/data at 2:45 am, I noticed it only at 2 PM, reauthenticated, then it lost it again at 10 PM. So, this morning, I had to authenticate again at 10 AM, and now I'm waiting to see how long it will collect data. This leads to a "gap" in the data, and TeslaFi is practically non-functional until this issue is resolved.

It isn't working for Casper.

We reset the API on Tuesday and Thursday. Both times received the 'granted access' email from tesla.

Both times, nothing is being logged and the status of my car is what it was at on Monday evening (but not quite accurate, the SOC in Teslafi is 12% at the end of the trip and it was 9% (and I have a photo to that effect, taken for another reason.)

It has been well over an hour since the last time we reset it.

Legacy API setting in both >settings>account>account>advanced  and >settings>teslaaccount> are unchecked.

Same as others. Put in a ticket, situation was resolved.

Seems like this wasn't planned. Thanks for the quick followup, only the e-mail came into the Spambox in here. But missed only a few hours, reconfiguring worked.

Seams like the issue is region based for me, get FleetApi::list_v - 421 = Incorrect region according to the responce codes for fleet API. I'm European region. Posted a regional requirements FleetAPI region links in another post, that is on moderation.

Thanks!  We just corrected your region.   I turned on logging on your account and data should start coming in within the next 10-20 minutes.  Please open a ticket and let us know if you're still running into any issues.

Thanks. Works like a charm now.

It appears to be resolved for me.

The API errors showed up again after nearly an hour after I originally upgraded.

I tried the process again, and now it brought me to a screen I didn’t see before (Tesla Account Access Granted), and asking if I’d like to set up Tesla Controls with TeslaFi.

Now, it appears to see my car, shows idling for 0 minutes.

I followed the link and received the Mail from Tesla and I don't get any error messages but Teslafi doesn't poll data from my car.

Hi.  It looks like things started to log again shortly after this but please open a ticket if you're still seeing an issue.

Thanks,

James

I successfully followed the instructions and received the confirmation email from Tesla. TeslaFi Raw Data: "API Login Failure". No data is transferred from the vehicle.
In the account settings is stated: No vehicles were found with your Tesla API Token. Please try generating a new token here.

I get it logging again.

Removed the checked box - Settings->Advanced->Legacy Tesla API

Then Settings->Tesla Account->Refresh Tesla Token (It displayed "Tesla Account Access Granted" though)

Its working for now...

Yay, great success. Works ok now.

This is the way! ;-)

Same for me. Generated a new token but no progress. Checked on Tesla.com and the access is registered ok there. Had to confirm my email for some reason but it did not help either.

Trying to run an action from teslafi gives an error. Seems truncated, ends with "not given"

Getting the same here. Maybe Tesla hasn't updated our cars into the new API setup yet. Hopefully it's just a waiting game then.

logged in successfully with new API,  now everything appears to be working but stuck at "sleeping for 1 min" and no data is displayed

it is working now, almost instantly after i logged a support ticket

I followed the update procedure and keep getting Tesla going back to the Tesla account login screen after I confirm I’m human.

This is on an iPad, Safari.

Update: when I started fresh Tesla gave me a different login screen and then properly authenticated me. All good!

It looks like Tesla just flipped the switch to move to the new official API.  You should see a new notice under the TeslaFi logo with instructions to switch to the new API.

Just got the email and noticed it hadn't logged anything since Sunday. I've reauthorized Teslafi with Tesla but was wondering if any of the missing data will be filled in later or is it lost since it wasn't logged by Teslafi?

James, which permissions are necessary for Teslafi? Vehicle Information, Vehicle Commands, Vehicle Charging Management.

Opened a ticket: https://support.teslafi.com/helpdesks/3/tickets/26562-new-api-update-and-recommended-permissions

I saw the email and followed the instructions from the TeslaFi.com logo. The upgrade message still appears below the logo. Is there some way to check if the upgrade was successful (Tesla side and/or TeslaFi side)?

I do see a confirmation email from Tesla for the access granted, but I still don’t see any indication on the TeslaFi side that it was completed (still shows upgrade message). Just checking again, and the TeslaFi website was down, but even after a few minutes when it came back up, it still shows the upgrade message.

Should disappear after it has a sync or two?  Mine disappeared.

I woke my vehicle up via the Tesla app, but TeslaFi still thinks my vehicle is sleeping. Actually, the sleep time hasn’t been incrementing.

The last raw TeslaFi data shows lots of API Login Fail, but it stopped when I upgraded. There has been no new raw Tesla data since then.

Same here; seems like there is some underlying issue.

Thanks!  That's working fine now.  Appreciate the super fast turn-around.
