Capital cost of vehicle

It would be fun if there was an option to input the total capital cost of your car - the car, charging installation and such - and be able to view that within our overall drive cost. I bought my car; put in a Tesla charger at home (plus electrical cost and panel upgrade) and a 220v charger at my chalet, so say, $70,000CAD total. The option would let me spread that over a set km ... I could choose 150,000, 200,000 or some number of lifetime miles. Add to that the km of energy cost, and that would give a real number of my total actual cost.

I understand the reasoning for asking for this, but in my opinion, it's not necessary,  To do so would give you extremely high cost figures while you use this database, but when you eventually sell the car, you'd need to then subtract the sell price from the database to maintain accuracy. Just for info, most companies (and I know you're not a company) only track two categories for their vehicles 1) Operating expenses - the costs of making the vehicle move, things like gas, electricity and maintenance. These costs depend on how much you drive, 2) Ownership costs - the cost to own the vehicle that you pay whether you drive the car or not - insurance, license, registration, inspection fees, finance charges and depreciation.  Companies don't factor in the actual cost of vehicles until they sell them.  It's how they calculate depreciation (purchase price minus sales price divided by the years of ownership equals your annual depreciation costs.
