HVAC Timeout

So I've set up a bunch of schedules, which is awesome. But I had an issue this morning with the HVAC. So I have a daily schedule to run the HVAC/Max Defrost 15 minutes before leaving to take the kids to school. However, the kids were off from school today. So when I checked around 45 minutes later the HVAC was still on. 

Would this eventually turn itself off, or do I have to remember to turn it off myself? My fear is it running all day and I didn't notice it. Is there an alert we could set up to say "Hey, your HVAC has been on for 2 hours"? 

Pretty new to this Model Y also, so I don't know if this wouldn't just get turned off eventually by the car when it didn't drive anywhere.
