Send service reminder before due date

I'd like to be able to set up service reminders by due date/mileage, but get reminders a configurable time/mileage before those intervals (e.g. a month before or 2000 miles before). It would be an upcoming service needed window of sorts where you'd get a reminder email/alert and maybe colorize the service as yellow until you hit the deadline and then show red.
