How to merge charges?

Is it possible to Merge charges? I have a charge on a destination charger where it ran for 2 minutes, then stopped for 1 minute before starting again and charging for the next few hours. I'd like to combine that first couple minutes with the longer charge if possible.

A merge charge option has been added to each charge menu:

I'm trying to merge three charges at a supercharger that were separated by only a few minutes but I get this:

"There are no available charges to merge this charge with"

How is this feature supposed to work?  Thanks!
