My car didn't charge

Phil in Chicago 4 years ago updated by James 4 years ago 2

Just signed up for TeslaFi yesterday.  My car (Model 3) was set up to charge for a 9a departure this morning.  I plugged it in last night about 7pm.  Ended up not leaving at 9a.  But when I did get in it at noon, it hadn't charged at all.  It was still at the same 48% it was at when I got home last night.  This has never happened before.  The only variable is signing up for TeslaFi and giving it my car's information.  What happened, and how do I fix it?

I do see you had everything setup correctly to charge to 80% at 12AM but the car never started charging for some reason. Your scheduled start time clearly shows up as 05/23/2020 12:00:00 AM but it continued to show 05/23/2020 12:00:00 AM even 12 hours past that so I would guess it was a glitch in the vehicles computer but this is something I've never seen before.

TeslaFi did not send any commands to the car and no settings changed between plugging in and manually starting the charge so unfortunately I can't give you a positive answer other than asking Tesla to check the vehicle logs to see why the charge didn't start.  It was clearly set up to charge at midnight.

If you're still willing to continue trying TeslaFi I would recommend restarting the vehicle's computer by holding down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen restarts to see if that corrects the issue. I looked a little more into the API data and still can't find any reason why the charge would not have occurred.   Let me know if there's any other way I can help.
